This week, bass player David Bowden is flying the flag for Scotland as he travels to Tallinn in Estonia for a week long residency as part of Criss Cross Europe. EJBF is delighted to be part of this project, which brings together 6 promising young jazz musicians from 6 European countries to form a band. During the residency period these musicians work together, guided by artistic coach and drummer Jim Black. The residencies are concluded by a tour that takes the band to venues in the 6 countries involved in the project - look out for more details of the Edinburgh leg coming soon!

Scottish jazz vocalist and songwriter Louise Dodds releases 'Blossom in Indigo' later this month. Taken from her forthcoming album 'The Story Needs an Ending', which is scheduled for release in Spring 2022, the track features Tom Gibbs (piano), Andrew Robb (double bass) and Alyn Cosker (drums). Music from the album was previewed at the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival in July.
